After years of thinking about it I finally changed brakes and pads on my LCR over the last two days
All in all it took me 4 hours to do fronts and 2 1/2 hours to do the rear. This timings will be cut dramatically the next time I do it, cause I put copperslip on the threads this time, unlike the previous garages.
Looking back this was well easy and next time I think I'll be challanging the RAC teams
Ruds guide is spot on for the fronts. The rears are very very easy, probably take 3 hours in total next time. The stuff I bought to do the job cost no more than what it would have cost to get a garage to do it so next time it'll be for free.
If you've thought about it and have a mechanical knowledge or even can just follow guides then go for it, its a great sense of achievement

Must have tools;
- Wind back tool for rear pistons
- 13, 15 and 17 mm spanner
- Philips screw driver
- Wire brush, copper slip, WD40
- Pry bar and hammer (a must in any job)
- Jack and axel stands
- Oh and cold chisle to get the disc screw out when you round it (or in my case when the garage that did the job before you round it![Furious [:@] [:@]](/forums/styles/seatcupra/oldforumsmileys/furious.gif)
