Black soot coming out of a petrol sounds pretty terminal to me rich....

I kid. All engines produce some sooty particulates but with a decat or minimal filtration system in the exhaust it's bound to occur. My oil burner chucks loads of white smoke out the back but it's just a scaffold pole from front to rear.

you total ***** lol

Whats wrong with branded exhaust? I have no probs with my custom and exhaust tips, that look like piece of metal in my diffuser.
The length of tips is essential as aerodynamics, weight, fuel etc..
Good luck solving this problem

I get little black spots on the the back after booting it.

You got any pics of the soot.

It maybe wasn't as bad with just the downpipe because your exhaust exit was to 1 side. Now you have 2 4" tailpipe in the middle blowing straight up the back.

Same here, usually after giving it the beans. Seems worse after GF has done a few work runs through traffic, first time it gets opened up it's soot time. Previous FR was the same.

oh and about the black soot, 100% normal on the TFSI thou i do find it worse on tesco 99 than v power

My white S3 doesn't do it!
This is probably more to do with the exhaust position and not everything being sucked up like the Leon does.

How's the S3 treating you?
There's a very high chance this will be our Leon replacement within the next year or two

I also want 4wd lol :(

That's just it! It's the only feasible step up from a CupraR really. Same power, but 4wd, and more luxury :) ...pimp that I am and all

Still doesn;t look as hot as the mk2 leon though :( It will be missed thoroughly when we finally let go.
That'll have been about 6 years of Leon ownership, with 3 Leons

What about a MK3 cupra R?? would u hold on and get that if it was 4wd???

I love me cupra and it stresses me a bit when I can't drive how I want when its wet, just gotta be a bit more gentle with the throttle I suppose

I am not that arsed about launching it from the lights so dont know if 4wd would really appeal to me.

Would have to drive one first

and u didnt reply to me other comment, how much did your Cupra R cost?

I'm not that fussed on the mk3...it just leaves me luke-warm. The next model (R?) will have to look pretty stunning...but I doubt it. It just looks like every other car out there. It's lost its "emoción". As it stands, I could walk away from a Cupra 280 with all the kit, and not look back. Whereas out Leon (and the two before it) always get a look back :)
The drive on the other hand is absolutely amazing. Can't get around that. Love it.

The 4wd wouldn't help you too much with booting it anyway. It's more for corners and all-weather grip. That feeling of the car finding its way on all 4 corners. Like RWD with diff, but better.

We paid 12k for the R...because it had a ****load of miles on haha.
Don't care...we know these engines. Last TFSI we had we bought with 65k and it ran without any issues (bar 1 20 quid component I changed myself) to about 85k miles.
The R won't see 65k in our hands probably.
