Hi. Driving today and the media screen suddenly went black and doesn't come on now, but I can press the buttons on both sides to change from radio to sat nav to music etc. How serious a problem is this and will it be covered under warranty. Is this a common problem?

Car is a 65 plate Leon FR. Any help appreciated. Cheers

This has happened only about 3 times to mine in 2 years of ownership. Has always come back on the next time I've got back in the car. Took a video of it when it happened and showed it to the dealer when in for service, apparently there's no fix for it!!! They said Seat are working on a software update to cure it. They said it will be logged on the system and they will contact me once available. If it was a common occurrence I think I'd be pushing for a new unit!

I have had it once in 3 years but to be fair I had been making tons of changes to the setup with OBD11, Turned car off came out next morning and all working fine, never seen it again.

Twice in 3 months for me. As above it always comes back after leaving overnight. Most annoying part is having to re-tune the radio presets

I've had this on mine - 64 plate Leon
I've narrowed it down to maybe having an adapter on the MIB connector to convert it to a dock to lightning connection

Our car has had periotic blank screens since we got it. Always comes back on when you remove the key and restart the car.

The dealer replaced the screen and (they say) they updated the software, neither action fixed the fault.

I took it to SEAT UK, as high as I could get, but they refused to do anything else. They said that 'they do not recognise this as a fault'. What the heck!

So best of luck :0(

Sounds like a big cover up to me

Can anyone else confirm if they are using an iPhone lightning adapter
I have a suspicion it’s do with the mdi cable or somewhere down there

Cheers for responses. As mentioned, the next time I switched on the system it worked fine and not happened again (Yet!!)

Perhaps there are Gremlins inside the dashboard!! Cheeky little critters!! Ha Ha :)
