whos had experiance with this? anyone?

i know alot of turbo boys do this and wondered what the effect was on the 1.8t?

HoocH

If you plug off the dv then the excess pressure will not be relieved when the throttle closes and the turbo will stall as mork says - not a good thing and expect the turbo to have a shorter life span!

evryone says it shortens the life of a turbo but i know people been running it for years...? does feel bettter tho

I can't see why it would? it won't maintain boost - because it'll just stop the turbo dead needing it to spool up from scratch again.

who's been using it on a 1.8T for years?

compressor stall.... high boost, turbo tries to stall, bearings suffer eventually.

they are there for a reason

yeah my brothers Fiesta RST has had the dump valve plugged, however i am pretty sure he has an external wastegate, thats why he gets the lovely rally style flutter sound, sounds great.

however on the 1.8T its just a silly idea, i remember my mates old man's golf 1.8T started making flutter noises and sounded really cool. the standard dump valve had broken down and blcoked itself ( not that he knew that ) lasted about a month before the turbo gave up the ghost.

i also know when i had my adjustable spring on my 1.8T and did it too hard, i also got turbo stall, sounded good but i am sure its not healthy.....lol
