Excess oil in the sump can be a leaking fuel injector or the result of multiple failed DPF regens.

Do you get any smoke on start up in the morning?

The dpf light comes on approx once a month even though i do a couple motorways journeys every week.
It normally starts smoking a day or 2 before the dpf light will come on, and once the lights turned off it will go.
But since that massive puff has been smoking all the time.

Sounds like you've been having DPF issues, the light shouldn't come on that often.
Give it a good run down the motorway and see if you can get a proper regen done.

It needs to get proper hot as well to clean the dpf out, leave it in 5th gear and get the revs to around 3K, then hold it there for 15-20 minutes.

Dpf light came on yesterday morning with a bit of blue smoke. Went on motorway 4th gear at 2.5k revs and it went off after 2 miles which was very quick.

Done nearly 150 miles after the light turned off and no smoke.

Mine was really bad was in drivable got advised turbo gone changed turbo still loads smoke on start up and revs bouncy but then sorts self out then driving has no boost as if has no turbo pure gutless but somtimes it’s boosts at least it’s drivable now
