i had the 85-150 fitted yesterday had so many problems trying to get the cold air feed attached we jus had to run it up to it and not have it connected. sounds the dogs :censored: tho and amplifys the dump from my splitter so well. as jamie paton said it sounds like darth vader with asthma

Thumbs up from me as well. At low revs with a cold engine it does 'growl' a bit, but you get a nice whooshing sound once you get going, but not as loud as a blow off valve though. I reckon it's reduced the lag a bit as well with the better airflow. BHP and torque, wouldn't say significantly noticeable, but no RR in Jersey to tell!!!

just reading your post about bmc cda and notice your from jersey when i was there last year in my lcr i got so pissed with no where do give it the beans apart from the '5 mile road' just wondering how you get your kicks?

although did take it for a blat on the north road my cousin shat himself and so did i when i got back a saw the turbo was orange!!!

Does the BMC come with a small filter for the SAI pipe? or do you have to buy one seperate?.

The correct bmc cda for the cupra r 210/225bhp is an sp-09 and it does require a breather filter all the prices info are on our section of the site. The k+n apollo will also fit as it started life as a universal filter anyway both should give similar results although we have found the bmc's give higher g/s on tuned cars!

I'm confused. I've used CDASP-02 on both my LCR's and that has been the correct one. And no breather filter required.

Where does the SAI pipe connect on the BMC then? I've only seen pics of one with the normal air intake attached, can't see clear enough in the pics to see where the SAI tube goes?.

Sorry its been a while since ive fitted one i think you are correct the lcr dosent require a breather filter as the oil breather goes into the intake hose! The sp-02 will fit the car but its 60mm longer so the cold air feed is a b*atch to fit we have done a lot of development work with bmc in the uk,but the italian manufactorer are a little differcult to deal with,so there is confusion which one fits what all the info we gathered we posted on here!
Anyway here is pick of the sp-09 as fitted by us to a customers car a while back:

I have an lcr in tommorow so i will check that car just to make sure!

im torn between the CDA and the jabbasport open cone kit.

i spend half my time in the evenings just searching this place and trying to figure out which are the best products lol. amount of times ive changed my mind after reading certain things!

Having previously run the BMC-CDA, then an open cone filter, I have now moved onto the K&N Apollo CIS kit, and I have to say it definately works! For me the BMC was just too restrictive, the K&N Apollo is rated to 350bhp and my car still pulls just as hard (possibly even harder due to only receiving cold air now) as with the open cone, the BMC did not.

Hello Rob

Ok i have just spoken to k+n and bmc about your experiences, the k+n apollo only flows upto 350bhp +-10% so i guess thats a maximum of 385bhp the bmc sp-09 uses the same filter as the 85-150 version and the outer casing is only 5mm smaller in diameter, this fitted to the reyland escort cossie ran 680bhp with no problems with the airflow,i would say that both products are excellent but to say that the bmc is restrictive i feel is in accurate! Please dont think im questioning what you know i just dont think that you should say that the bmc is Restrictive as clearly in our and bmc uk's view it is not!
