I have a BMN leon FR thats being a problematic menace!
So for over a year i have had issues with hard start that i have been consistently chasing replacing glowplugs, batterys, injectors, tandem pump, looms, servicing, torsion and timing to little or no difference each time.
i have had varying symptoms from poor fuel consumption, lack of boost, VERY slight misfires, all primarily when the engine was cold and would improve as the engine got warmer.
This week i did a 30mile round journey slightly erratic at idle but pulled well under load and a reasonable fuel consumption so performing what i could consider well overall. I got within 500mtrs of home and the car started to badly misfire almost cutting out before coming to a rolling stop at home. I have since been trying to chanse my tail with whats gone wrong as the car now WILL NOT start. It sounds like it comes up to speed on the key but theres no fuel getting to the injectors for it to fire up.
I have checked fuel lines -all clear and flowing well
I have replaced tandem pump incase that was at fault - no difference
I have tested the injector loom and theres signal getting to the injectors.
I have checked the piston crowns and noticed cyl 2 and 4 were soaked so assument drippy injectors - replaced these and now im still facing no change.
Would i be wrong to think compression? Or could it just be a complete set of failed injectors
