Boca or Leon FR TDI DSG?

Hey folks! First post in the MK5 section... Go easy! ;)

My work commute is about 35-40 miles a day return, I currently have an Ibiza Cupra MK4 which is a absolutely lovely car, but my daily drive is turning into a bit of a 'stop-start' affair, as the traffics always congested and driving through villages stopping, passing etc so the clutch is getting a bit more use than i'd like! I hate slowly driving along and having to stop every 2 seconds, dip the clutch etc!

Anyway!

Having driven some automatics before, they obviously suit that kinda drive a bit more as it's just a case of letting go of the brake in those situations and slowly moving along!

Which brings me to ...

The Leon FR TDI (DSG) or the Ibiza Bocanegra...

I'd say the Leon would probably give better mpg overall, but I do prefer the size of the Ibiza in comparison (although the seats look better on the Leon IMO).

I drive like a granny most of the time, regardless of the fact I own a Cupra, and can usually get about 33-35mpg from my current car - but not so much in the stop start drives.

Anyone made a similar decision between these 2 cars?

You can't get a DIESEL Leon FR with the DSG gearbox (or at least not in the Mk2 Leon range anyway)!
The DSG is only available on the Petrol Leons. Did you mean " TFSI " ?

Saying that, I went from a Mk4 Ibiza (Diesel - not a performance engine though), to a LEON TDi FR (with the 170bhp engine).
The difference between the Two (both cosmetically and mechanically) is night and day. The complete specifications of the FR makes it a great package.

It's got great performance FOR A DIESEL (0-60 in 8 seconds) - which is only 1 second behind the Petrol FR.
HOWEVER, you WILL still see over 500 miles to a tank of fuel, with fuel consumption averaging around the mid 40/early 50mpg range if driven carefully.

While recently visiting a SEAT Dealer, I did stumble upon the Ibiza Mk5 Bocanegra !!
It LOOKED a GREAT car - the first time I'm seen one in the "flesh", they've done an excellent job on the styling of this new Ibiza!

Appeared a little larger than the more "compact" Mk4 Ibiza, yet still obviously smaller than the Leon. But its size did appeal to me, and I would have been very interested if I didnt already have my Leon FR! Looks alone are striking, still setting it apart from the new Fords / Vauxhalls etc. Not aware of the engine options though?

Keep us updated, and let us know how you get on - which you go for. ;)

After having a ibiza sc 19tdi, I found that only having 3 doors and being a bit small was my biggest problem, I then traded it in after 9 months for a leon fr tdi (2008) not brand new.
I must say it is a fantastic car and woulden't go back to a 3door, but I think the ibiza mk5 SC is still one of the best looking 3door small cars I have seen, love the look of the crupa /fr/ broc.
