Without drilling. Only two brackets, two springs, two balls M6 and two M8.

Looks exactly the same as how we did the MK2

I miss the gas strut bonnet opening on my mk 3 cupra sub 8 (previous car mk1 cupra)

i asked why it had been changed to the clumsy old hook thingy

while i was working on a redevelopment project at a seat / skoda dealer

just north of York. ( no names just in case i get anybody in trouble)

the answer was amazing.... turns out the health & safety people

had a tiny few incidents of the gas strut exploding during an underbonnet fire

so that was the end of that

ridiculous

Expect a prop stick for the boot too then soon :D

Yes that's why they are pushing electric cars and using public transport on us too, turns out it's cos of elf and safety that, they had a few cases of gas tanks exploding in car fires, so petrol cars will soon be outlawed and that was the end of that, ridiculous ;) :)
Obviously with all this health and safety no more airbags or seat belt pre tensioners either, cos they go off with a mighty bang too in a car fire;)

Pleasssee, no more bonnet struts cos of elf and safety, do people really ever believe these tails

ha ha

yes obvoiusly been sold a pup

guess this cost saving explains why no passenger electric seat

no grab handle over drivers door

useless front washer spray

oil dipstick so thin a silly old fart like me can barely see it

no spare wheel etc etc

anyway still love the car

:D

From Russia With Love.... I made contact with a Russian guy (not the ebay one) and discussed import a number of kits including MK2 and MK3 Leon.

Decided to order a sample kit for myself :p

Please note in the pictures I have put the struts on upside down, I realised my error and swapped them around!

I still have to remove the OEM arm which isn't as easy as just pulling it out like on the MK2

Yes they look really good - well done on sourcing this, would love a link too as miss the struts from my previous Audi A3. A RHD positioning of the bonnet release wouldn't go amiss either.........

I'm in talks with him about shipping a batch of them for MK2 and MK3 Leon as nobody really offers an off the shelf kit here in the UK.

The price of my mounting kit for MK3 is £10 and for MK2 is £15 (corners + bolts "balls"). Struts cheaper to buy on the local market UK.
