has anyone got any suggestions on spraying the plastic cover parts i put on several layers of plastic primmer top coat and then laquer but it still seems to flake off if scratched!

had mine off for a few month and all is fine.. engine does sound louder and so does the turbo whistle and DV
took mine off to day then spent about an hour cleaning the underside there was cobwebs and allsorts looks good now its clean tho
That will do but dont rub too hard and put deep scratchs on it, also wash it off with strong soapy water
bear with me here, but I'm sure I read somewhere, that the bonnet lining also acted as a fire blanket, should the engine catch fire? Someone said that the plastic clips melt, dropping the lining on the engine, basically helping to reduce any fire....?
Or is this all bull? Thinking about this as I type, I don't even think it is fire retardant, so unlikely. But hey, lets through it out there and see what peeps say!

Ok, I ripped mine off last night and to be honest, I thought you were all exagerating about how much louder it would sound. Jesus Christ! This thing whistles and dumps like a mother f*cker now! I can't believe how much that bit of lining deadens the sound.
Just to bring this topic back to life..
Have just removed my lining and it sounds like a completly different car! As jamjay says i thought it was a bit of an exageration too but its really not, filter and dv are so much louder! Happy days
10p? Can't see anyone really wanting one. Would of thought people still have it stored away , or don't know no different of one that used to be on there. Mines off and sounds like a jet on take off now. Plus helps me hear of any weird noises that weren't there before .
This is what I did, it's a kaffufle but in my mind finishes it off and also provides some sound deadening while the foil finish reflecting a bit of heat off the paint.
I still have the templates for this job if someone wants any, it's a labour of love.
