Bonnet won't pop up

Just pulled the lever to pop the bonnet and it only slightly lifts. I can get my fingers in very slightly, but no movement. The button, that pops through the hex grill barely comes out.

Cant be a snapped cable as I can hear the mechanism moving

Any one had this before.

mechanism is cloged up with gunge,its happen to me try using a pair of pin nose pilers on the lever in the grill,use back wood and forward motion,and try some wd40,it will pop eventuly..

when bonnet is open lube mechanism and try and test...

it happenend to me very fiddly but you will get there..

Ahhh nice, I did reach for the pined nosers. But I'm sh1t with cars, so I stopped in case, some how knowing me it would seize the engine etc.

Gonna wash her tomorrow, so think I'll nip out in a mo and spray some WD up and under
