Boost Gauge wiring

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but it's a bit unclear to me on how to wire up my boost gauge.

On the pic below it shows 3 wires but i'm unsure which 2 i've got to use?

Am i right in saying i've got to use the blue/white(+) and the brown(-), will this give me dimming with the dash lights?

If anyone could shed some light on this it would be appreciated

Hello, you are correct, if you wire your gauge backlight as above your gauge will change it's brightness with the rest of the dash. I'm pretty certain that you can use any negative though not just the one indicated above, e.g. anything that earths to the chassis. If unsure check with a multimeter.

Dont bother with the switched live, backlight positive is the one, that way you can use the dimmer on the gauge lights.

Is this all it takes to wire in a boost gauge? Sorry for sounding dumb but hwo does it know what the boost is?

u can tee in too the vac hose or the best way is on the manifold theres a pipe that comes of the side with a non return valve on it,on the non return valve theres like a green condom on a nipple pull that green conie off n put your vac hose feed to your boost gauge, teeing in on the vac hose off the dump valve os ok but the dump valve needs all the vac it can get

Cheers for the help people, it is all wired up and plumbed in to the top of the dv but when i took it for a test run it doesn't seem to be right for the following reasons:

1) it sits at -30 on tick over
2)when the boost comes in it hits -15
3) it only ever hits + boost when you are giving it a bootfull and then only to about 6psi ( i thought std cupras hit about 8/9?)

would it be better to plumb it in to the green nipple and see what i get?

That sounds about right, well maybe 1 psi too low, I thought standard Cupra's held about 7psi and the Cupra R's about 9 or 10 psi.

Well i've plumbed it in to green nipple now and there isn't alot of drifference, it is now boosting to what i thought it should about 7psi.
