Boost Leak??

Hi guys ..

Noticed recently that the car has had if u like bit of sputtery performance, so i took the engine cover off and noticed the underside of the FORGE DV was covered in brown liquid, the hoses around it had liquid and dirt around them where they are held into the DV, plus a bit above the tip. What could it be? i was maybe thinking boost leak, faulty DV? Help please ..

yeah i m gonna say oil mist accumulation on this one.......you may find, depending on how your induction is set up, that you could have a build up of oil mist thats worked its way to the MAF....

an oil catch tank would be one way of resolving the problem......otherwise, give the maf a clean and see how it performs.

be careful with the maf though as it is quite sensitive........ive read that some sort of alcohol based fluid is the best thing to clean it with. I personally cleaned mine with wd40 and gave it a wipe......this worked a treat but is probably not the best advise to follow.
