hello people.i purchased a 2001 leon 20vt a couple of weeks ago,and absolutley love the car.ive had it revo'd to approx 210 hp.i have searche dthese forum pages but cant find anything on boost pressure.basically i have ordered an electronic 2 stage boost cointroller, pressure gauge, and tt all in 1 box.
i just need to know what a safe boost pressure would be on the stage 1 fuel map i have, with no risk of detenation, and also what the boost pressure normally is standard.thanks in advance for any info, much appreciated,

steve

hi,thanks for that.id imagine that the vt will be a little different,i know that the turbo wont be boosting that sort of pressure after remap,it just isnt potent enough.what would you say a safe figure would be?

If you've had i Revo'd then you shouldn't need an electronic boost controller. Or is it that you lend your car to people and don't want them nailing it everywhere?
I'm pretty sure your turbo post remap will be hitting about 18 psi. If you fit the gauge first you'll be able to see.

ive just been on the phone to revo, your right the controller wont make any difference apart from put the ecu into limp mode.guess ill be going bigger turbo, bigger intercooler route.the map thats in it atm peaks power at 5000rpm,so its a little like driving a diesel, having to keep it in the mid range.what the guy did say,was to fit a recirculating forge dump valve, which will give it better response, and a little increase in boost.but as he said, how much power can you get down on the tarmac with a 2 wheel drive car?anymore than 225,they become a little unusable, fun, but unusable.
although i were under the impression that if i did fit a valve between the acuator and the turbo, the wastegate would stay shut longer, giving it more boost, didnt think it would affect the ecu at all,but hey ho,im no expert!:)

hehe.id probably just end up doing the pistons and rods in anyway,as they arent forged like the cupra r's.dont suppose anyones fitted one of these forge recirculating valves on theirs have they?if so are they noisy?not too keen on that woosh sound:)

I have the Forge 007p recirc valve and no they aren't loud unless you get an open cone filter. I have a BMC CDA induction on mine and it's no louder than the standard valve but has better response and is needed if your car is mapped.

thanks for that mate, think ill be investing.does it make the turbo spool up quicker?mine kicks in at about 2900 rpm,and on the graph, the boost drop off vertically at 5000,so it really is like a fast tdi!:(
