You need an amp mate is what people are basically saying. They really arnt all that expensive.

Boot lights are an easy DIY mod, I have done it my self on my 05 Ibiza FR for about £10 and half an hours work

No mate an amp will not do it unless it has an internal cross over for the sub.

Unless your not to fussed about the quality of the noise you want from the sub that is

My new mod did a boot build today still need the subs and amp but you get the idea

When I looked at the picture, the first thing I thought was how come mine doesn;t have a boot light...

that looks good mate, take it you cannot get the spare out though, and does anyone know if there is a way of moving the place where the spare tyre sits to the underneeth of the car? been as i will be looking at a boot build sometime but still need access to the spare tyre becouse the miles i do

ahh thats a good thing to remember then, just fit connecters and it does not matter what goes in the boot realy then,

finished couldnt afford the amp to power the 2 subs so just went for 1 till i get more cash here are the pics

nice boot you've got there:)

you'll def need that amp.

i've temporarily got a JL e4300 amp (150w bridged@12v) going into a JBL 250w (rms) sub. 40 minutes after some real use the amp cuts out with temperature protection, so fk knows what trying to drive a head units on board amp at that power will do!

by the way i have a light in the same place, but the garage took the bulb out, presumably to demo it without running the battery down. where do i get a spare bulb? :)

nice, what's the amp and the speaker?

did you do that with all the volume calculations and stuff?

Best mate was an Audio fitter custom build maker so took advantage of it...

Fibreglass over the odd bit in the corner of the boot, then made rough measurements and made it out of 18mm MDF, carpeted it and insulated/sealed the box!

Its an Alpine 10inch Type S with Pioneer 4 ch Amp, not sure what one... :)

thanks m8 alot of swearing and throwing things about but it was worth it in the end

Haha yeah I've been there before.

To be honest, the Toledo and the Ibiza are the only two cars I've not had a proper audio install in... my two Polo's, my Mk2 Ibiza and my Corsa did.

I didn't miss it with the Toledo as the OEM sound system was pretty amazing if I'm being honest but unfortunately the Mk4 Ibiza one isn't as great. I can use my Phatbox with it but with eight speakers I think the sound quality could be a lot better.

Maybe I should look again at fitting an ICE install... means when I'm dealing with clients that I'll need to haul computer systems in and out my back seat - not all that practical :(

doesnt seem that hard to wire a few wires to the battery a few in the back of the cd player to the amp think the hard bit is going to be hiding them as they are bright green
