Boot Equipment

After buying my V5 i looked in the boot and all the usual spare tyre, jack, wheel brace, etc. are there but there seems to be a lot of space in various pockets between the spare and rear of the vehicle. Does anyone know what is supposed to be in these or what it is for??

Think it's just there for your own choice of spares - bulbs, footpumps, etc etc

If you've got alloys with centre caps, there may be a bit of coat-hanger for pulling the caps off

Our Mk3 Toledo has luggage nets and stuff like that, but don't think there's anything missing on yours

Thankfully yes lol i know what you mean about the space though, mine has acres of space in it (due to the missing bits lol) i might just stick a trolley jack in there instead lol

Not a problem on mine anymore - I had to cut it all out to fit the exhaust

I've got a skinny space-saver, a footpump, and the jack just rattling around amongst a whole heap of other crap that I keep meaning to clear out

According to the manual the large space is for the "removeable ball coupling", I kid you not!!

There is, thats the towbar in english.

Have a look at the end of the locking wheelnut adptor and there should be anumber. If it gets lost you use that number to reorder the correct one, have a guess how I :censored: know...

I remember that thread :(

Not much good if you loose it though  I've got McGuard nuts on now so don't use it, but it would have been a good idea to jot the number down along with the radio code - might stick my set on eBay today as it's cheap listing day

also got a removeable tow ball in the boot - I'd forgotten about that - that's just rattling around on the floor too

i want a removable towbar did they come as standard then?? i would be surprised if they did, but to have a compartment especially for it is a bit odd really....good point about the key number :)

Think mine should have had a towbar fitted as it looks like someone has hacked a lump out of the black plastic beneath the body colour section in me bumper
Thought there was a cover on it when I got it cos I don't remember seeing a hole when I viewed it
I've got hand wipes, gloves, jump leads, sleeve protectors (old pair of socks with no toes- stops me knacering me good gear) and a pair of steelies in the cavern as my wife calls it

Help yourself Lew
Just had a look under the back of my car
It would appear it has NOT had a towbar fitted at any time in the past and for some reason I can't fathom someone has just hacked a lump...........Prats

Alright smarty
I can't lay claim to the original idea anyway.
Came from a guy a long, long time ago in Car Mechanics Magazine
good idea though and has saved more than 1 shirt over the years
