Bought wheels with incorrect ET?

hi guys i have a leon 57 plate 1.6 refernce in ruby red, i got it last friday and i love it

As most of you know that model and style doesnt come with alloys so i went and purchased a set of 4 kei rss et 45 in 18" in black with pirreli tryes (245/40/18) and they look amazing they line up with the holes on the hub perfectly iv been told they are not the correst et so then the part where i need help:

will i need any kind of spacers or spigots?

will they fit ok with that profile of tyre?

will the weight of these alloys effect performance?



please help me and answer these questions, i want the alloys on before new year

i'd suggest trial fitting them; if they stick out of the arches there isn't much you can do, if they rub on the wheel arches, or look to sit too far into the wheel arches you may need spacers.

The difference in the et will make no difference, it would be virtually impossible to get an after market wheel with the same et as the factory fit wheel. Et 45 is just about ideal. A 245.40 tyre is way too wide, you should be looking at a 225.40. You will not need spacers unless you want to push the wheel further out, do that and you will stand a good chance of the tyre fouling the arch. Your wheels should have come with spigot rings to match your hubs. A spigot ring is thin ring which fits into the large hole in the centre of the wheel at the back. Its job is to centralise the wheel on the hub before you fit the wheel studs. If there is any movement of the wheel on the hub before you fit the studs, then the spigot rings are either the incorrect ones or they are missing. Very important to have the correct ones fitted.

hi i bought these with the tyres on i had no choice ill have a try in fitting them 2moz if they catch ill have to get some new tryes wheres the best place to buy tyres cheap online?the alloys came without spigots i know where to pick some up tho thats no problem thanks for your comment

take them back to where you got them from and slap the seller in the face, dont fit them as they dont take them back once fitted. did you say they were for a leon 2 ?

they are 2nd hand but only been bought 3 months not a scrath on them so pritty much cnt

same are on 35 et and i read that 51 is the correct offset others say 43,

none say they have had any major problems,

try them tomorrow, fit it and whilst jacked up spin the wheel and check for clearance before lowering it down.
