Anyone bother using premium diesel in their tdi's?

I used tesco 99 in my vxr and got much better mpg than if I used bog standard petrol..

Never made a difference in mpg or power in any of my previous diesels, might help clean things out and prevent carbon build up etc, but it isn't like premium unleaded.

Give it a go, let us know your results.

V power is all I use in my car and I avoid supermarket fuel like the plague.

You do realise you just agreed with Betty lol

Step back and think about what you've done haha

Amongst some of the **** he spurts I detect a decent human being in there somewhere.

On this occasion in particular I am inclined to agree with him as I share the same opinion on budget fuel.

:D

And this dope I'm smoking is helping out too.

I am half normal. I just like to wind people up

Don't use being high as an excuse, that's a c*nts trick

I don't use premium fuel in my diesel, just stick to shell fuel save. Will only ever fill up with other stuff if I absolutely have to (ie, don't have enough fuel to make it to shell).

I have only ever put Vpower Nitro+ in my FR. But, the question was about 'BP Ultimate diesel', not petrol.

I have tried Vpower diesel and I'm pretty certain it makes very little difference. Certainly not as much as with unleaded vs Superpremium unleaded.

I always used Sainsbury 's diesel in my old cars. Some say to use a tank of premium fuel every now and again to clean out the system though.

I just stick to Shell standard diesel and use Millar's fuel additive, it works out cheaper than using the expensive fuels per litre, do this on my other car but with the petrol versions where 2 mpg extra is 10% of normal mpg.

That's exactly what I was doing then I ran out of millers and laziness got the better of me so I made the switch to v-power nitro+ Jesus juice.

I had it terracleaned as well, that made a noticeable difference!

+1 Terraclean. I've just bought some Diesel Rhino but waiting for refuel before using it. Gets great feedback though

I'm not really sure that constantly using premium diesel makes much of a difference, or noticably anyway like in a petrol. The only difference due to having a better cetane rating would be less soot as the V power diesel is less dense, therefore igniting the diesel better. I'd be interested to see any dyno tests of cars that have done 80000 miles using just primium and 80000 standard diesel, and check the carbon build-up.
