I must be the only one to only use Morrison’s and Asda diesel 100% of the time for the past 6 years and never have any problems with the DPF.:D

As much as sooty exhausts will clog up the DPF a little bit quicker if you do drives that are about 30 minutes, the DPF should be able to sort itself out with passive regeneration. Are you standard drives long?

I’m disable so the car is used for very short journeys 3 or 4 days a week, can be less than 10 miles a day with the couple of days doing 30 to 60 miles and a few getaway days and holidays that can be a few hundred miles in a given week but the long journeys are only 4 or 5 times per year overall about 7,000 per year.

I had a Golf previous to the Leon both with DSG boxes but I’ve never had any problems with the DPF and after reading about all the problems that are associated with them and short journeys I was getting a bit worried about the DPF until I realised I’d already been driving a PDF car for 3 years and did not even realise it. I did think it strange that I never ever seen any smoke coming out the back despite diesel being called “smokers”.:D

So added rhino today for the first time, first note, it stinks like mad and is so strong its hard to shift the smell if it gets on anything so don't spill any and don't get it on your seats. I've done a 100 miles today so far and do actually think the engine tone has changed ever so slightly, it seems a bit deeper but quieter. The engine feels slightly smoother too, and this is most noticeable by the reduction in vibration through the accelerator pedal. The biggest thing I have picked up on which I think is partly how busy then roads are today but for most of my journey I only had to apply the smallest amount of pressure to the pedal to get the amount of drive required which seemed far less than normal, I'm talking mm's of pedal travel to the point my leg wasn't used to the position so my muscles were twitching adjusting to it. Also today I saw 43mpg on the average trip for the first time ever. Its too early to tell if it will make many real difference but I am hopeful and will update with any findings in a few tank fulls

Just finished my first tank, compared to my last two tank fulls I am up 3mpg and got 10-20 miles extra. Will continue to update until the bottle is gone
