Brake choices, which option do you think?

Hi all,

I really need to upgrade the brakes on my 1.8 AYP for some better ones, mine get very spongey and very hot under hard driving.

My options are:

Freodo DS2500's with new discs. Whats the ferodo mart number for the mk3 ibiza cupra on standard 280mm discs?

Wilwood kit

or Brembo Kit. Prices etc?

Can somebody recommend me a wilwood kit, part njumbers, any hoses i need etc. and the sizes etc, and where to get one from? seen these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WILWOOD-4-POT...98QQihZ005QQcategoryZ9889QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

will they fit?

Thanks all.

ds2500's will set you back £71+vat for 280mm std brakes... good fluid to complement these is motul rbf600 (high temp fluid) £8.99+vat/500ml

As used by ickle lupo to good effect here>>

Lupo runs same brakes as ibiza cupra. on ds2500's and motul fluid

i can also recomend that set up, done a few track days on them and had no problems, i was using ATE power discs but i think they have stoped making them now so im going to try brembo 280mm discs as of next week.

Mintex Extreme pads & Brembo discs on wifes 16v,Brembo 4 pot,ds2500 pads & Bills machined discs on my 20vt.Initial pedal bite & retardation on 16v feels better but once the 20vt pads warm up they are in a different league, they just need heat in them first though to feel better.May go for a less track based pad in mine next time, but in all fareness both sets of pads have only been in for a month.Early days yet so may change my mind.

i've had blackdiamond drilled and grooved discs and EBC red stuff pads and they work fine! done 2 trackdays with them and there still fine! had them on about a year now like that and they still got loads of life in them!

cheers all, i iwll ring bill in the new year and get some brembo discs from GSF as they seem to be quite cheap :) i believe my current discs have warped as i get a bad judder under braking, especially did on the track!
