Is the stopping power as good as the standard pads with light braking and when the pads are cold?

I have just fitted the same package altho went for OEM rear pads (Mintex) and that was £290 delieverd, all fitted within 3 hour and are really good, would recomend to anyone.

thats a bargain, £60 cheaper with standard rear pads

Where did you get these?

I've just been out and measured my rear DS2500 pads and they have exactly the same depth pad material as the front at 10mm, they are also exactly the same depth as the Pagid OEM pads i have lying around aswell

Steve, would have been CRN (have a look on ebay and search them on here for reviews)

I got them from olly last week also with ebc turbo groove design. Front ds2500s and rear standard top stuff 290 delivered!

Hi mate,

I have been using the set up for the last few years now and have to say that they are much better than the standard set-up.

I run a similar set-up as shown in the picture, but have drilled-discs and Ferodo Pads all the way round.

The ferodo pads give you more bite and are more responsive.

I was not keen on the whirring noises that the grooved discs created, so I would have to say that I prefer the drilled discs.

Overall, great value for money :funk:

i've been fitting the discs and pads that i got from CRN earlier tonight (8 grooved discs and DS2500 pads all round)

the rear DS2500 pads are about the same thickness as the front pads so i don't know if they have changed the thickness of them but they are definitely not 1/4 thickness (i would say about 8mm at a guess)

Hi calum, do you get any noise from the 8-groove discs? Is it accurate the less amount of grooves the quieter they are?
Cheers

Also, do you know what make discs crn use? Thanks

Alright rob, would love to tell you mate but not had a chance to try them out much yet, only got them on the other day, will be going for a decent run at the weekend so will be able to tell you then if that helps, they will still be bedding in so i would expect a bit more noise at first anyway

the grooved discs will be a bit noisier but i doubt it will be much tbh, the 40 grooved discs on the other hand will be a lot more noticable i would reckon

meant to mention aswell that i was told by CRN that they use EBC or other branded german made OEM discs (can't remember the brand that they said they sometimes use)

No worries Calum, would be interested how youfind them over the weekend, let us know, cheers...

Yeh they don't advertise the pattern i got, i had to ask for them to custom make them, they are happy to do virtually any pattern that you want for no extra cost which is great (they CNC them all in house so can make up the design and get it made no probs), as i said i got the 8 grooved discs that are similar in pattern to Badger5's that they sell

I got the brakes finished late last night an took it out for a quick spin to bed them in, i can't personally notice any difference in noise at all tbh, i'll be taking it out for a better run at the weekend so i'll be able to let you know more then

heres a few pics (and yeh i know my brembo's could do with a refurb lol)

You would have had better braking performance if you'd asked for them to groove towards the pads, this would have made a big difference

i take it you mean the direction of the grooves, i've seen arguments for fitting them both ways but i doubt you'd notice much from daily road driving, i'm guessing the only benefits to the way i have them on is slightly better cooling and disperses water/dirt/dust a bit better ?

Not such a silly question TBH.

It's all to do with the internal venting.
Some discs have a universal venting some have directional venting.
Depends on which sort you have to whether you can swap sides with them or not.

The benefit of the grooves facing the pads is they bite into the pads making a new surface every time you brake giving increased braking performance
