Brake pedal needs pumping...!

no not changed anything just gonna take it too a garage soon cos im fed up with it, my brembos keep warping disccs aswell wish id never put them on!!

might find it could be some thing to do with the pressure of the pedal and to stop you have to push it harder and the piston comes out further and thats whats warping the disc..

when on stand still hand brake down and pushing pedal slow then fast you can hear a huffing sound do you get this with yours.. and i have been told to change the master cylinder do you know if this is a easy job..

yes i do get this huff, dont know about changing the master cylinder, cant be to hard just limited access i think!!!

im going to have a look at master cylinder and see where i can get one an how much and see if my mercanic can fit it for me and see if this sorts the problem if not ill get a servo...

why would it be the servo mine works as it should if you disconnect the servo pipe the peddle goes all hard as expected, have you had your brakes apart for refirb have you let the abs and brake system run dry???

no mate not taken them apart mate and when engine off my pedal goes hard. this is why im going to change the master cylinder first.

your pedle is meant to go hard with engine off then when you put power on it sinks a little let me know how you get on with the cylinder change maybe do a guide lol!!

tbh pal you say you've checked everything else (seatcoober) so unless your m/c is feckered it might be that the m/c isn't big enough to cope with the piston sizes? (iirc you're running some other brembo's not the ibiza specific ones) maybe that could be a problem????? just you're getting down to bare roots of what's left to blame

i got the same problem and am still using the standard brake set up.. but do you know who hard it is to fit the master cylinder..

provided the unions come off in theory it's easy, its just the limited room which is again the problem. for what it costs i'd take it to a garage and let them scrape their knuckles mate. I presume you have checked that your slide pins are free on the calipers seen as you're on std setup?

slide pins what you mean mate the piston on the caliper or some thing else

no the front calipers are made up of the caliper and the caliper carrier, on the std set up the carrier helps with part of the operation of the brake as it has 2 pins which are greased and the caliper slides in the carrier to help with braking, if this is siezed it will cause your brakes to be a lot weaker. if you've had them in bits you'll know what i mean.

i had my rears off for recon maybe when i sand blasted them some sand got in the pins that have grease on but i had the covers on all the time when sand blasting and regreased the pins when they went back on, to be honest ive had this problem since i removed the rears, maybe im just blaming the fronts and its the rears that are the problem, but this does not help the fact that my brembos keep warping the front disc im puzzled.

you got decent discs on there? are you 'over-stomping' on the brakes because you have good ones? (daft as that sounds, if you're anything like me you love to make sure you take advantage of your mods).

discs are std 305mm ibiza r ones and i dont think i stomp on them am, looking to get them cryod to make them stronger unless there is an alternative disc out there

strange you're warping them then mate, but with regards to your soft pedal problem if you've had it since you messed with the rears trey bleeding the rears up again or possible some new calipers. as you say maybe you're blaming the wrong part!

just a little up date had brakes bled today and still no better. am wondering why would it not be the servo..
