Got my brakes through from redline motorsport.

and they couldn't of got it anymore wrong.

The discs (tt ones said they would fit)are smaller and the bite area is all wrong by nearly 1/4 inch

the pads are so big the discs don't move.

I hope this is a **** up from pagid cos redline were so helpfull on the phone and knew what they were talking about.

Does any one else know of a company that makes groove or drilled discs for the cupra-r

P.s Thanks to vern for the fitting guide very usefull (did it right this time!)

TT's use 312mm disks same as the normal Cupra hence they wont fit an R. Could just have been a genuine mistake by someone not knowing the difference between Cupra & R....

full on elbow licking there then

Leon R brakes are like Leon R brakes.

the pads are shared with other Brembo'd cars - but that's not a guide

look under SEAT Parts > Euro Car Parts & ask Stu if he can get hold of the discs - pads are available & Stuck in the forum

Spoke to them today very helpful offer my money back or the correct discs.

I'm going to see how much the correct discs cost.

apparently they are the same discs as an S8 audi (323 mm) but pagid don't make discs that size and pcd.

what pleb told you that?

S8's have a 112mm PCD, and your Leon has 100mm PCD

ask them if they can lick their elbows next time you speak to them.

I know its get worse and worse lol
I think he was try to find the size match
at least I know now that they won't fit
(told him the pcd of the Leon)
s8 discs are 13.6 inch (345mm)
a8 (inc Quattro)discs are 12.7 (323mm)

At least when this is sorted anyone from here orders discs for a lcr they won't have the same problem!

edited to say:
Does anyone know the dimensions of the lcr discs?

I doubt an Audi runs a 28mm thick disk. Interesting they it runs 323mm diameter tho.. Not 5x100 tho, 5x112pcd Audi (?)

Yes..
323x28 disks.

I can get you a price for grooved or drilled.
I advise plain generally tho due to pad wear on grooved and cracks and ripple wear on drilled disks.

the discs are part worn nothing bad just I want better discs to the match the pads. To stop the nasty brake fad when braking at speed.

At this rate I might give up and stay with stand discs.

I'm on my second pads at 7600miles.

Bill,

What price can you get the discs for?

Thanks

Fade won't be your disks, but mor elikely pads and or the Oe factory fluid.. (dot 4 usually)

Consider some Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads, as I have found they last x3 longer than stock and stop much much better.
Sounds like you're last of the late brakers tho with that wear..

Still got some way to go tho... x2 sets in a day :D (@ Cadwell)

6/20/40 Grooved disks (best sit down) will cost you £450-£500 pair.

CM pads would cost you approx £140-£170 set

Thats good to know.
I've got (the new pads) rs4-2 pagid pads which seem ok at the mo still really running in.

I might get the fluid changed 5 dot would be better I'm guessing?

good thing I was sitting down for those prices!!

you'd expect rotors or carbon for those prices lol

I can't believe how few places do stuff for this car.

What do you think of the rs4-2 pads? I am thinking of trying some at some point.
Ordered some more CM pads for the moment as I know where I am with them.

How much did they set you back?

So far they are very good, warm up quickly, no fad and a sharp bite, but do seem to squeal alot when pulling to a stop.

they were 148 with a little discount (for getting the discs at the same time)

Edited to say found out the squealing is because the brakes need a race style bedding in!

The discs look like they are going to be a8 quatto with a leon pcd they are getting a quote.
