is there a how to on changing rear brake discs and pads? tried searching , has anyone done this themselves? did you find it easy to do? is there anything to watch out for/
cheers
one pads are out undo the disc retaining screw. then take a hammer (preferably a rubber/plastic mallet) to the disc to loosen it off the hub. once this is done you can remove the disc and then place the new one on.
You will need a 14mm(??) 12 point torx bit and breaker/large ratchet to undo the carriers on the rears, disc doesnt come off without the carrier removed! I tried, no amount of hammering budged it!
Caliper rewind tool is essential as said, pretty easy to do, if your anyway practical an hour will do it, if not comfortable with something like this, get someone experienced to take you through it, essential part of maintenance to get right!
Thinking about it, I'm not sure if I even removed the carrier.... I think I just took the calliper off, and then removed the disc with the carrier still in place.... can't think now

I only used a hammer to loosen the dissc from the hub. however I DID remove the disc without removing the carrier. pull it from the rear first and angle it, it will come off without the carriers being removed (on a 2.0 TDI Sport 256mm disc)
Same discs afaik, had to get carrier off and only then with a tap did they fall off, hammer the living sh**e out of it before and no budge. There is a guide around stating this, maybe design was changed to allow easier access etc?

It is, had found the set i bought in the boot last week. Think blled sequence is usual, start furthest away i.e rear pass side, opposite side, front pass, driver front.
