Brazilian Rally Ibiza.

HI all.

I'm new in this forum and I'm new in the seat world... and I'm from Brazil.

I bought last weekend a Seat Ibiza FIA N2 Rally car.

this car was a national champion in N2 series in 2002. And it is in very nice conditions now.

But I'm not sure what kind of engine the car has.

Can you guys help me?

I'm not sure about it. The seller told me that it is the 1.8 liter 16v. but I'm not sure if this is a 16v head.

8v crossflow.. did'nt know the mk3 had them fitted ever.

the way it fits round the coolant bottle suggests it probably wasn't the original engine.

can just about make out a fly by wire throttle I think?

16x7" OZ Super T's

Tyres are 205/45/16 (on the front)

It's the 1.6 Sport Engine, which is an 8V Crossflow.

Looks like an 8v from the 6500rpm red line on the rev counter.

If the rev counter is for that engine, could be a transplant with original clocks, being a rally car they dont have to work properly do they?

rocker has the oil filler in the wrong place for a 1.8/2.0 16v

if ?? thats the matching timing belt to the motor - give us any letters and numbers you can find

but then being a rally car it could have had a mix matched induction on it to improve the torque

bottom end fittings looks std enough though and definately a transplant i'd say
