The last place I went to which was a ford dealership they wouldn't do anything on price or fix stuff they said if you don't buy it someone else will. Maybe it's just me lol

Seems to be the way of it now. I've had the same experience. Nothing knocked off for buying it outright without a trade in either. I think some cars they know will just sell. And if you don't buy it, a less picky muppet will walk in off the street and take it as is.

Yeah that's the unfortunate way these days then... I'm hoping they sort all the issues out then it maybe worth that price lol if it was me I would of already walked away haha

3 new tyres (albeit crap ones) and 1 remaining Bridgestone potenzas got me thinking...what happened to the car? An accident knocked out all 3 tyres plus the light at the back? At 13k miles, whereas the fronts could have worn to 3mm or below and warrant a change, the rears, no way? Even Cupras can't eat tyres that quickly! I had Potenzas on my Seat, and after 12k miles (when I returned it) fronts had 5mm rears still had 6-7mm!

Good point well made...

The Potenza on the rear is at 4mm and i'm not sure why they changed the rear passenger as they only said they would do the fronts.

As for the rear light i'm not sure how easy it is to pop out, for example if you changed a bulb and pushed it a bit hard... I'm not sure as I wasn't there on the first meeting when they spoke to the manager about it.

If it's anything like the MK2s, I managed to rip the whole bumper off (with brackets under each light) and neither light moved a mm. Think ours are held in by two metal and one plastic bolt. So unless they may a drastic design change...

Could all this stuff happened on route from where the car was to this place I assume it arrives on a big car lorry type thing...

I saw the guy just pop one side of the light back in like it was on clips didn't look proper fixed but unknown...

The fact it's gone through 3 (nearly 4) tyres in 13K means it has unknown mechanical issues causing premature wear OR it was driven super hard, all the time.. I can't even imagine doing that in my cupra - My 1.4 FR lasted 3 years/30K on the factory Bridgestone tyres.

Even the fact they changes one tyre on an axle and not both clearly shows they're a bit cowboy, not sure i'd take the chance with a relatively new car, maybe better to spend that bit more for peace of mind, I wouldn't rely on the warranty for that.

I it was me and I really did want the car I'd tell them I want 4 new, decent, tyres, the issues mentioned fixed and a full service/inspection. If they wouldn't do that then I'd walk.

I don't know the UK market (in Ireland) but I can't imagine it's a rare spec that can't be passed on?

Dunno, hard to tell if those are scuffs behind it in the picture where it's move and scratched the paint. But as above, you know how I drive and my rears are coming up to 10k now and I have 7mm still left on them.

Taking what @phate101101 has put has made me wonder if this could be a ex hire car or similar... as we all know they are the fastest cars you will ever drive and that could explain the tyre usage? Or its a shed and misaligned causing odd tyre wear.

Just spoke to my brother and he said the car was a mobility for a couple as the doors go way further out than normal but I think that's the only change that we could see, the V5 says Mobility I think as well, then for some reason they either could keep it or afford it etc

Yeah the 3 tyres and only 4mm on the last rear Potenza isn't great now you all mention it and the light isn't ideal.

If they had an accident then fixed it themselves i'd have no way of knowing.

I think it's polish or something it wasn't scratches from what I remember looking at

I'm getting the same vibe as well...

My brother might not let go as quick as he's not seen one like this in his price range/colour and spec etc...

He's going to base his arrival on my thoughts from my next visit

He's after a 17/18 plate FR Titanium with 8 inch screen, 18 inch alloys but they seem to be brand new and only seen them on the new ibiza and this one fr I saw yesterday lol (he doesn't want the normal looking fr ones which I quite like haha) needs to be black, 3 or 5 door, 1.4 TSI 125 or 150, less than 20k miles,14k budget.

I've sent him loads from what I can find but none of them are near him in Norwich... Ones just popped up in Peterborough which is close to me and another near Derby so just waiting to see which is next on the list.

Thank God he walked away, he made the right decision. As people say and what always seems to be true - something better always comes along.

I'm the same about the alloys, prefer the standard ones. Even nicer after getting them painted black, really set themselves off now.

I've had my 15 plate 1.4 fr for about 7 months now and it's been a dream. Only issue I've had is as others have said, condensation/water in the rear lights. Already got the LHS board replaced under warranty as the indicator stopped working but they refuse to replace the lights .....

Other than that nothings went wrong ... yet.
