I have a split hose with air hissing out just to the right of the dipstick, it connects to the underside of manifold thing behind the dipstick then runs along to the right and down and connects to the rest of the breather pipes. Been to the Seat dealer and they cant find a part number for this bit of pipe, although there parts diagram seemed to leave alot to be desired! they can only sell me a full set of pipes which seems a bit OTT, anyone had this problem? or know the part number for the pipe? or where to get one.

I've had this very same problem on my sister's Cupra. I've temporarily taped over the hole as it was causing the car to tick over like a sack of :censored: I would also be interested in a knowing the part number. I was looking on Etka last night and the diagrams do leave a lot to be desired.

Under the plastic head cover is the v shape pipe one piece goes into the side of the head & the other goes straight down & connects to the other pipe that goes down under the dipstick . If thats the the one thats split it`s about £30 , as I replaced mine in december . If that`s the one i`ll try & find the reciept with the part No , awkward to fit though but no more petrol vapour through the vents

If you mean this hose I had to replace mine a couple of years ago. I was told by a member on here that it's cheaper to make one up with silicone hose and It'll last way longer too. The hoses on the VAG engines might as well be made from chocolate.

No mate its not that one. The one i'm after comes from under the inlet manifold and joins into the block breather pipe. The picture you have there is where the block and head breather meet.

Ahh. I think i know the one you mean cause I've had to replace that also :(

Does it live under the metal bracket under the inlet mani that the dipstick guide attaches to (orange plastic thing) does it connect into a plastic tee?

If so i can find you the part number and price when i get home.

Yep indeed thats the one, do you have your receipt or the part number by any chance? I even found it on the vagcat exploded diagram its item 26 but there no part number for it. I even printed it off and took it to the dealer and they still couldn't find it. I get the impression they are not trying very hard and want me to book the car in.[:@]

It is... I took the old pipe off to get the part number... its the pipe that goes front inlet manifold to a green plastic connector. Its an oil breather pipe.

Cheers mate, I will get back on to the Seat dealer tomorrow I will let you know how I get on. I know I could have used any piece of hose but the problem is it's in such an awkward place to get too, and I didn't want to risk taking it off and end up with the car not running as I need it for work every day. It's limping around with the management light on at the moment and various errors logged about irratic idle speed, low airflow errors and petrol mix too leane. Both hoses have gone that one and the 3 way one on top of the engine which Seat have already ordered. So I'm hoping this will sort it all out.

Thanks again mate.:D

Me again! Finally got the pipes from the dealer and they look like the right one's yippee! :D So plan on tackling it tomorrow, my next question is my brother has lent me a box to rest the management system, It has just 2 buttons "Erase" and "Reset" and a load of LED's. Which order do I press the buttons in or do I just press one of them? I read something somewhere about "do not" completely clear the memory.
