colour coded dash is kinda "marmite". either you like it or you dont. Guess it's different to the usuall black (unless you have a BMW, Merc with all cream interior), and gives it a "Fresh" feel

very funky dash! pretty cool to see it briefly but not sure i could live with it and do i see part leather seats in there

think i better come up with a back up car if the FR/Cupra does have leather seats rather than waiting a long time putting my eggs into one basket only to be disappointed

i thought i read a few months back that the "SC" was going to be really different to the 5 door? the only real difference it the orange dash and lumping off a couple of doors

not as excited about this as i thought i would be and if i'm honest a bit disappointed

It's a whole 17mm lower and 18mm shorter! How much more different do you want it?! Yeah they could of made it slightly more different like actually making a coupe instead of a 3 door hatch and calling it a coupe. Oh welli still really really want one. But I want the trim in piano black, not orange.

Not partial Leather 1 even better...:D
"The Ibiza SC on show also features attractive, sporty seats upholstered in a combination of leather and black Alcántara with double orange stitching – another one-off feature.":funk:

1.7cm isn't that much of a difference and we all know size matters ;) all 3 door models are shorter than the 5 door so that's no big surprise either - by calling it the sport coupe i would have thought it would have been a bit more "sporty"??

will reserve judgement on the part leather seats - the orange stitching may well be a one off due to the orange interior but they could always do part leather seats and to me that's still a no-no - finding it very hard to come up with a back up car that hasn't got leather/part leather seats [:@]

whys that?

the reason i don't like leather or suede is for me it's an ethical thing i have a problem sitting on the skin of a dead animal - really see that as classy! also with leather it's boiling hot to sit on in the summer and freezing cold in the winter - it's easily damaged by belts etc - suede is really just the ethical thing but can hardly see that as being practical

but if they're putting it in the lower models then as i say have no hope when it comes to the FR/Cupra - i just hope that this really is a one off due to it being at the motor show and not going to go into production

i also really hope that seat will keep cloth seats in the FR/Cupra and make leather an option (for those who really need/want it) or put some nice recaros in either of them

i know a lot of people wont understand or think i'm being really silly but this will really make or break it as to whether i purchase another seat

This is SEAT we're talking about, the chances of it being real leather or suede are quite slim.

Doesn't your current car have a leather gear knob and wheel?

FR and cupra will most likely come with cloth as standard and leather/alacantra as a option. Although if seat want the cupra to be a bit more special inside, like how audi does with their s and rs models to differentate from the rest of the range it might very well be part leather/alacantra

Now this all makes a bit more sense! It appeared to myself & from the looks of it quite a few others, that you were disappointed not to be getting "Full Leather"... I can sympathize with your sentiments regarding cruelty to animals. Yet when you consider the quantity of beef consumed worldwide using the hides in this fashion just assures less waste. In addition the vast majority of these cattle would not even exist if not for the purposes that they're bred... That said Audi has been using this type of leather suede & other materials mix to great success over the years!!!

vegetarians understand we will never change everyone and there will always be people that eat meat - but i feel happy that i don't - but by putting leather or part leather on the seats Seat will be limiting their market - most vegetarians are strong minded enough that this will make them not buy a car - it's the reason why i haven't gone for a top end audi A3 TT, Alfa even fiesta ST - you only have to look in shops to see that the vegetarian market is growing - nearly everything has a green V on it

i have no problem if people really want part/full leather seats in the car just have it as an option (doesn't even have to be a additional cost one) - i think Seat will make a big marketing mistake if they just put it in as standard

i'm sorry i didn't want to start a big debate about this stuff - just wanted to voice a hope and explain why it's my hope that Seat don't do it
