Where are people getting their wire from for this? I have been thinking about going to Wilko as they have it on the roll.

They sell the simple red and black wire at Maplin etc. however I just had a load of spare flex (the stuff that is used on an extension cable or house lamp, usually available in 20m rolls if bought in bulk from B&Q etc.) in the garage and used that. As its only 12v there's no need to have any special wire.

Update:

I've had the multimeter on the go and I've checked every standard fuse under the bonnet. Unfortunately they are all live without ignition except for 13, 14, 15, 22, 23, & 24. Now when I have the ignition on these work but also stay on for the 10 mins even after the engine is switched off.

I've tried every fuse with just the key turned and then with the engine having been run then turned off and all except 20 stay on...sadly 20 has no power going to it which may be why it's a empty space anyway!

Having the lights stay on for 10 mins isn't a problem and it won't drain the battery down however I'm going to contact Seat UK so that they can speak to one of their electrical engineers to confirm why this is the case.

Will update people once I have a response.

Maplins do several versions. Do I need the 3A or 6A wire? It comes in 1m lengths so I was thinking if I get 3 lots it'll be enough?

To be honest your better off just using some cheaper 2 core black flex. As it is black you won't see it as much either.

Do a eBay search under '0.75mm 2 CORE BLACK FLEX 3182Y ***BUY PER METRE***' and that will show you the stuff I used. It's also available from B&Q etc.

And im guessing there's one needed for each led? In regards to the power issue how about tracing where the red lights in the rear view mirror get there power from? They come on when u unlock the car and stay on till its locked

Yep, one for each LED.

I think there will be a fuse in the side of the dash that does the job but its more of a mission to do. My amp runs off a cable from the head unit and only comes on when the stereo has power so I suspect that would work fine and I could probably do a 'bodge job' to try it out but I'll wait until Seat UK get back to me as I have raised the question about the fuses.

Rob, which size cabunchos do I need? The LED is 11mm and they only have a 10mm and then a 14mm round one? Also how many of the piggy back fuses do I need? Just checked your diagram, one piggy back to 2 LED's right? So only 6 needed?
