Yes only 2 allocated cars can score manufacturers points. They must allocate them after qualifying i believe.

cheers mark

still a bit dirty mind, cos then they just pick the quickest two rather than being stuck with the same two all season. just got me thinking cos i bet they wouldnt have gone for onslow cole at the start of the season as a points scorer!

Wow what a weekend's racing from what I managed to catch on the goggle box, again not made it to the race in person... but at least it ended on a high with JP's win.

Though I was impressed in the use of the SCN hospitality unit as the back drop when they displayed the results!

Agree about the Casio advert... do people really do that to their cars?!?

not chuffed about the disqualification given that sheddon got away with the same thing earlier.........

I am wondering, did anyone happen to see if the stewards beared an uncanny resemblance to VXR's pit crew??

still hands up for a superb drive to redeem some points in race two

Well, not many but anything is better than no points at all.

But the best drive for Jase was of course race 3; though he competed well in race before the VXR...sorry Thruxton...stewards ruled he was the exception to the rule and deemed it OK for Shedden to start from his achieved position but not if your name happens to start with Jason and ends in Plato.

wa good race 3 for jason, another win for the tdi's

although i do feel for andrew jordan, i know he drives a honda, but he was having a bloody good race in race 3, untill the all to usual heavy handedness of the vauxhalls punted him off, then he caught it back for his engien to blow, doh.

oh and i hate matt neal, but then again vayuxhall do fire atleast one driver at the end of the season, and for a ex champion he's doing **** in a seemingly good car.

go tdi's

Well started out bad this morning, I woke up late and was 5 mins late getting to the meeting point! So we didnt know where to go and got put in with the public! When we did find out we attempted to go out and the security was saying that the road was one way!!!! So no group parking for me and andy...... We found the hill and sat we a great group of people..... Definetly got sun burnt on the face even though it was cold most of the day!

Now for the worse bit!

Got back to the car about 5.30pm and because the people employed to do their job wasnt doing their job we was there for 1 hour till leaving the gate for the road!

We were sat on the hill as well but left after the 3rd BTCC race to hopefully avoid the queues getting out - helped that we were with the group parking in the camping area - got on the A303 about 15 minutes later but then had to drive 70 miles back home doing 55-60 as the thermostat (we think) went on the way to Thruxton and anything more pushed the engine temp up to 100+ :(

Not a good end to the weekend, but at least it should still be covered under warranty (although I'm sure CarShaft will do anything they can to get out of it - all those that think they'll class the thermostat as a consumable?)

Cheers to all especially for sorting us with the group parking pass (even if the stewards knew nothing about it)

Kevin

I had a SCN 'pass' but ended up stuck in the public car park, on approaching the circuit i followed a sign 'unlabelled and public parking' (not knowing what 'labelled' parking was) and ended up being directed into public parking, showed my pass, but they couldn't/wouldn't let me move from public parking.

I'm assuming now i should have followed 'labelled' parking?

Didn't see any group of SEATs parked up, where about were you guys parked?

Had a great day watching the racing, getting back out the car park was abit of a nightmare, took about an hour!

Paul

Good to see everyone making sure we had pride of place on the hill again

Not had time to sort most of the pics yet, but managed a couple ( Will do some more tomorrow )

Roll on Snetterton which is on my birthday and the next race day I'll be able to go to (might be able to make Croft next year if I plan everything right though)

Well hmmmm - followed Tim's convoy - Boy what fun we had... security guards new nothing of us.... tim gave it a good try but they were having none of it, I used my dad's disabled badge, and we hot foot'ed it towards the camping car parking.... lol forgot to say I think that gave Tim's convoy the escape root to follow nd park in the camping area ... - Womble II was left on the Banking (did anyone 'spot' me...) in the disabled are'a as Dad cant walk far. But over time we made it to SCN hill... Saw the troops - but stayed over to the right, for some interesting photo's - Some 500 taken, will have to do some sorting of them lol ....

Spoke to SEAT girls re the parking they said they would look into it for us, SEAT Ace Thruxton Security NAFF !!!

Sorry to hear that folks, it's always the bloke stood on the gate that seems to have no idea.

I remember at Donington a few years back, some idiots were sending away SEAT's VIP's because they had been given a black and white photocopy of the pass. Yet all the VIP's had proper full colour laminated SEAT passes. So obviously the dimwits thought they didn't match so were refusing entry.

It only happened that myself and m0rk were VIP's that year ourselves, and we were able to call our SEAT contacts to let them know what was happening at the main gate. SEAT were bemused to say the least, when you spend all that money on VIP space, and the idiot on the gate is sending people away.

Hope you had a good weekend regardless though. Tough one for SEAT, but they came away with a win, so it wasn't a total write-off!

I didn't think the traffic was too bad, maybe I just caught it lucky, 20 mins from the field to the A303, left just before 6 o'clock.

Anyway some fantastic racing shame about the race 1 disappointment, but it made an exciting 2nd race.

A few of my pictures.

I had to miss the last half of the last race to get these next 3 pictures, but my 2 boys really wanted to be sprayed with champagne and being JP's made it all the more special for them.

Sorry for those that missed the convoy and parking (We did leave at 8.35 honest)

Well as Stu B said the jobsworths on parking knew nothing about us or our parking aside from the fact that we were in labelled car park A (like every other b*gger who bothered to buy an advance ticket). We pointed out the admittedly large collection of VRX's and told them Seat had organised similar for us but they weren't having it at all.

In the end with Stu B in the vanguard waving his disabled badge we just left them waving furiously at us and charged on through to the campsite and parked as near the rest of the gang as possible. Much shorter walk to SCN Hill though with all the kit :flag:

Great work from JP in race 3 and a really fired up race 2 (up 8 places before the end of lap 1)

As for Race 1, getting caught on ride height infringement after qualifying is either carelessness or we're being stitched up by unequal application of the rules:wtf:

All in all a great day in the sun, and good to see some new faces among the usual and badly hungover ones ;)

Ps the happy campers are being flamed for ASBO behaviour on BTCC.net (Thruxton thread) :drunk:

Like some others, I was waving my pass and asked for the special parking but was just told to park with the 'great unwashed' :p as it 'was better'

Anyway, the chap in a MK 5 Golf next to me complimented me on the Cupra and said it looked great and asked how it was to drive - top bloke :)

I too was a bit miffed when I saw all the VXR guys parked together - gits - must admit they did look good all lined up together.

Introduced myself to a couple of guys at the SCN hospitality area - sorry didn't get your names - perched just below with a mate and enjoyed a great days racing.

I had to miss the last BTCC race to play 5-a-side footy but caught Jason winning the last race on TV -

Anyway, my 7 year old daughter was thrilled to get the parking pass to stick on her wall :D I wander when she will spot the spelling error
