See thats what my idea was, to buy a written off one but theres no gaurantee the engine will run though?.

I took a risk with mine and it payed off. I had to buy a few bits but nothing too expensive. Obvioulsy you could ask if it's a runner or not before you commit to buying it.

Yep i would be quite interested, but i may have to wait a few weeks until i get some funds together, what will xmas and car insurance renewal within the space of a month.

It will be fun trying to get everything into the car if i get the interior.

No bother mate, i cant pick up the tiger stripe until a few weeks anyway as my car needs the pedal box replaced.

Nah i dont mind saying, guy is charging £165 for the interior, incuding leather headrests and all the door pockets etc..

the guy seems sound enough, i said i'd take it off his hands, aslong as he doesnt mind holding onto it and i will leave a deposit.

I need my pedal box welded, thats essential, leather interior isnt quite as important lol

The pedal box problem really is a pain in the a***!! Mine is now bolted and welded together. Changed the clutch cable and clutch and the pedal is so much lighter.

Do the gti seats offer more support than the 1.4 seats and are they more comfortable?

the seats are so much more comfortable in my gti then they are in the 1.4 sport.

i dont know my 1.4 had the GTi trim as fitted when i got it.

But yeah they provide a good deal of support, have a look at the pictures, very comfy seats to sit in.

They sure do. When I bought my polo it had some horrible standard piss stained seats fitted and when you were going around the corner all you were concentrating on was not sliding off your seat. Then I bought a GTI interior (courtesy of Kermitcupra) and the seats hold you in place SOOOOOO well. Almost makes you feel like the cars handling has improved. That is mainly because you can concentrate on how the car is cornering rather on how you are sliding all over the place off your seat.

If I remember correctly then the mk2 seats grip so well in fact that when Roly put a 1.8t lump and mk3 interior in his mk2, then took it for a trackday, he ended up selling the mk3 seats and fitting the mk2 ones instead as they provide a lot more support/grip.

I know what you mean about sliding off the seat. My seats are like that and they aren't that comfortable either. Especially on long journey's. I want something that give more support and are more comfortable. Will try and get hold of a gti interior or even a mk3 cupra one.

I sold my MK2 interior to Martin but then borrowed the MK2 seats for a track day as they seem to offer more support than the MK3 seats

I've since sold the MK3 seats to Wilz and got my recaro's that have more support than both of them

The seats still look stunning roly leather care all the time, was thinking of buying the covers off of you earlier on but couldnt justify it as the seats you gave me were in excellent condition

I got the covers just incase as i'd seen a few MK3's with bolster wear but mine were always okay and i won't be needing them now

Hmmmmmmmm They are some of the nicest (and probably very functional) bucket seats I've ever seen, and I don't even like bucket seats

Some days I wish I still had the valver (especially on cold soggy days)

proper bucket seats, none of the budget sparco ones.

Makes it look classy!
