back boxes dont give any gains, full systems are negligible unless you ditch the cat aswell, or atleast i think thats the general concencus around here

I think im steering away from the option of a cheap back box or system! i may save up the pennies and get something more worth while!

I've heard a few things about longlife and power flow but never experienced either! can anyone tell me the quality of either companies? approximate cost for a mk2 8v gti, as im sure someone must have used them and also did you notice any performace gains?

i'm guessing that redhill would be the closest one to guildford!

Otherwise any recommendations on other out the box systems you would recommend?

Im also going to steer away from the decat option as i feel that it is too much hassle for mot's!

At the end of the day my GTi is never gonna be some rocket!

Thing with Powerflow and Longlife is that they operate on a franchise arrangement, so different branches vary wildly. Even if they didn't, it would all basically depend on the fitter who fabricated your exhaust.

I've heard some fairly varied views on Powerflow particularly. I know a guy who had a 16v done, quite likely at the same branch you're considering - he lived in that part of the world - and they made him a system with a mid section that resonated anywhere above 3000rpm (just where you don't want a boomy resonating exhaust in a valver!). He gave them a good few chances to sort it and they just couldn't manage to improve matters any. He didn't stick with it for long, I don't quite remember what happened about it all in the end, but he certainly had a few less than complimentary things to say about them.
