A while back i buggerd up my clocks by taking them apart to change the lcd display bulbs now my rev counter constantly goes backwards and i have no milage, i have brought myself a set of 2nd hand clocks and was hoping i would be able to transfere the my old milage to the new clocks but i have just been to the stealership and NOW they have told me that i need a brand new set of clocks to be able to transfere my old milage, is there any other way that i can get my old milage on the 2nd hand set of clocks, the bloke in the shop sed that the milage was stored on a chip or somthing?? is this the IBM chip on the circut bored? if it is as a last resort before i buy new clocks i was thinking of trying to remove the chip and solder it on the 2nd hand clocks in place of the other chip? Looking to sell the car in 2 weeks really want it sorted :(

Hope all this makes sense.
Cheers.

I got the mileage changed on my new set of clocks (changed from GTi black/orange to Cupra silver/orange clockset) I used a guy listed on ebay in linconshire, cost me £40 to change the mileage displayed. I had been quoted £120 for this service locally

you can ask him to set the mileage to 6000 if you wanted, its all done via laptop, and the clocks dont need to be brand new to do it either. so just put down roughly what you last remember it at

about £50 seems to be going rate from searching the web.

go to google and search for digital mileage correction services, and see if any are close to you

yep what he said
I just searched on ebay for mileage correction, chose the cheapest and contacted them from there. I had to post the new clocks along with payment and they were back to me in 3 working days. I bought second hand clocks out of a 97 cupra, they showd 110k but my car had only done 97k so I got them changed to what my origonal clocks show'd
