Perhaps there’s more to it than just shortages. I ordered my Cupra in March and received it three weeks later. Sounds great, except if you consider how dodgy it has been - all the known infotainment system faults + my car failing to start twice, with an undiagnosed cause...

Regardless of reason behind it, one hopes they are using this time to actually debug the vehicle software. Orders delivered late this year might end up being MY22 versions with spec changes/improved hardware.
Lets hope so andy.

Ordered VZ2 early march still no build date!
That's crazy, I ordered mid March (through a broker as well!), it was built week 20 and recently arrived at the dealer ready for collection in the next week or so. Not sure how they've managed to not even have a build week for you. ¡Mañana, Mañana!

When I made enquiries at the dealers late April before ordering through leasing company, the earliest they said for expected delivery was mid September on new orders.

wow i ordered a month ago not even a build date how did that work ??? maybe i will get mine in july in that case :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I ordered with a SEAT/Cupra dealership after a test drive around 20th April give or take a few days with paperwork etc. I asked for a delivery estimate early may and was told build date is week 27, 2nd week of July, with it possibly taking 3 weeks from then to arrive at dealer. So they reckon roughly 14-16 weeks.

After reading some of these posts i checked again last week and was told it hasn't changed and all secured orders would be delivered in that 14-16 week period. They said for anyone ordering recently it would be extended delivery times compared to that.

Well, you may well be one of the lucky ones. I ordered from a Cupra dealership also mid April, and was told today that I still don't have a confirmed build date ??‍♂️

Hello! I ordered my car (310) on the 22nd of February (country Estonia), all extras, (we dont have these VZ1,2,3 setups) except brembo brakes. Preliminary date that I was given was the 29th of June would be the latest date. Have been in contact with the dealer a 3 times, they have no idea when they will start production. They talk about having video conferences etc with the car maker but no good news. I sold my 2017 Cupra 2 months ago already because I did not know how fast I could get rid of it so I started selling few days after I put the order in, should have waited as I literally made a small profit on the car :D:oops:. I am just hoping that I would get this in the summer...

Just had an update from my dealer (Spain), build week 38 for my order which was placed on May 5th. According to him the delay is due to the factory not being prepared for the amount of orders and they don't have the capacity to fulfil in time (sounds fishy to me!). I was originally told that the delay was due to me ordering the Sound (Beats) & Shine (Pano) pack and that the Beats stuff wasn't available yet

i ordered a week after you lets see if i get week 39 then !!!

I’m no expert but I guess they can’t build RHD and LHD at the same time on a production line. Maybe they wait for the orders of RHD to reach numbers where it becomes efficient to swop over? Or maybe they can build both?

Hello from Finland. I've been reading this forum few months now since I placed my order mid March (310hp, Beats, electrical adjusted seats). Dealer said back then that I will get my car in june. I can check my order status from online service and maybe a month after order status showed preliminary building week 39. Two weeks ago status changed and now it says building week 44 and model year changed to 22. After that information I contacted my dealer because my current car's (Ateca) summer tires won't last till autumn. Dealer sent me a new set of tires so I was satisfied. I know delay isn't dealers fault and they do everything they can but Cupra won't get high points from me. It's starting to feel like a lottery if someone gets their car in a month and I have to prepare for next year.

I think here the online service is provided by the company which imports vag cars to country. You can check your current car maintenance etc and ordered car status. Dealer said that it's not allways updated in real time but atleast you get some information.
