Bulb sizes

Are the bulb sizes for the Leon MK2:

Fullbeam: H1
Main headlights (dipped): H7
Side lights: W5W
Fog lights: H3

Well I have tried to buy the brightest bulb for each size that I can find without upping the wattage.

Fullbeam: H1 - Philips Vision Plus 50%
Main headlights (dipped): H7 - Philips X-treme 80%
Side lights: W5W - PHILIPS BLUEVISION W5W (got these free with the H7's is there anything brighter then these??)
Fog lights: H3 - Philips Vision Plus 50% (these ones seem to be pretty rare)

I looked at the Philips DiamondVision bulbs, they will look bright when your looking at the car, but don't project light as much as the X-treme and VisionPlus series, which you will see more with.

If anyone knows of brighter bulbs with same wattage, please post

I'd be interested by the diference in H1 and H3 lamps

Mine seem abit dim, especially Full Beam H1.

I will try and post before and after pics Will have to wait a few days as I'm only doing after my front bumper and driver side headlight is replaced. (some fool backed into mine while it was parked ) Its going in tomorrow so won't be long

Hi xe have you seen the new osram night breaker bulbs, spous to be fantastic 90% brighter than standard bulbs the best yet so mags say, ordered
mine from power bulbs

I've got a 10 plate and it said H3 in the manual which is wrong for my ca my fogs are HB4!

Agree with the above mine is a 2009 facelift and the fog is HB4 not H3 like the manual.

I've just put some Philips 12972-XVS2 H7 X-Treme Vision in and they're loads better than the standard bulbs, well worth the price.

think it's just the packaging, bulbs are the same.
