hi all
As per the title really.
I am looking at a leon St 300 lux. Its 2020, 33,000 m with a 3 service history.
What should I look out for when viewing it? Any known problems i should be aware of ?
I know the dsg will need servicing at 40,000, does the hadlex need any special servicing?

Finally, is it ok for a daily driver/commuter? My wife used my leon 190tsi as her commuter and loved it. and until we can find her a suitable replacement she will have to use the new leon.

Thanks in advance

Haldex oil needs changing g every 20,000 miles or 3 years, about £120 at a VAG specialist.

According to Seat, the DSG oil on the Mk 3.5 needs changing at 80,000 miles, but my specialist recommends every 60,000 miles.

The most common failure is the water pump and thermostat housing, more a question of when rather if it will fail.

I've had my 2020 300ST for nearly 3 years used it for everyday driving and long motorway runs and it has never missed a beat.

Other things to lookout for:
- Silicat bag in coolant or not? The silicat bags tend to rupture, clogging the internal heatercore which means high repair costs to replace. The popular thing to do is remove the silicat bag and switch over from G13 coolant to G12 EVO coolant.

- Has the PCV valve been replaced? The PCV valve are a known weak point.

Thanks for all the replies
Car looks to be in good condition but the MOT history worries me:

1st mot (12,000)failed due to headlights adjusted too high- if these are full led, sef adjusting, then that implies they were manually adjusted high? Could be a build error, could be a twat driver?
2nd mot (20,000m) both front tyres worn , 1 to the cords)
3rd mot(28,000) pass but advisories on the rear tyres
4th mot 35,000 fail offside front tyre bulging.

I worries (may be unfounded I know) that anyone who drives a car like this with bald tyres is not the type to stick to the service schedule. They are also the type to thrash the car?
Is 20,000 about right for a set of front tyres on these?

Also 12,000 seems an awful low mileage for the 1st 3 years. This makes me wonder if there was a mileage blocker on the car.
I understand that with obd11 you can do mileage checks on the gearbox unit to verify the mileage.
Is this easy to do

Thanks in advance

Regarding the headlights - The headlines on my ST feel WAY too low when driving on the motorway, like, dangerously low... when I asked the garage doing the MOT to raise them to me they told me they were already at the max limit. Maybe something with the automatic adjustment.

20,000 isn't too far off what I'd expect for front tyres, depends the type of tyres on them of course... That being said this overall gives me impression of the car being thrashed around.

Did the car ever get a lowering job, in your ownership or in a previous one, and maybe headlights were not calibrated accordingly?
