And i have just read another thread you posted in

You added the cupra r bumpers to your 04 plate! So stop talking complete drivel

The ONLY tdi to come with cupra r bumpers as standard is the fr+ which was available from 2005 on a 55 onwards

The older cupra and fr comes with cupra bumpers

As speaking for complete drivel take a closer look as the one that was being mentioned was my old tdi cupra replica as pictured on this ebay add item 271137128240 so I didnt fit the bumpers to my current one.

So what year is your current one?

If its not an fr+ im afraid it has been retro fitted by a previous owner... Either due to a modification. Or accident repaired :)

Well all i can say if its all been done retro fitted then someone has done it to a excellent standard and its got more features than the plus with cruise and leather but as far as i know it was a +

What reg is it?

Cruise and leather can be specced on any model

Its hardly rocket science to fit a front and back bumper is it.... I could whip the front bumper off in under 10 mins

Just an update, love it tbh first thing did a full service and genuine Campbelt kit and water pump never doing it again lol what a pain.

It's a mk1 platinum grey just want sort an updated clutch n then map it up.

just waiting getting a straight through pipe and cupra tip.

Just want wheel spacer kit, any1 know correct set from here?

Cheers

I agree it is easy, but slightly exaggerated lol!! You have to the 6x pins on the top by the slam panel, then there is 4x torques on the front (cupra bumper) 2x cupra r bumper, then half the wheel arch, which doing it quickly means jacking the car for access, or steering either left to right. Then there the fiddly 8mm's on the wing sliders 2x each side. disconnecting fogs, that senser, I think it must be crash senser, 3 crossheads underneath too. No way is it ten minutes haha, took me about 1 1/2 hours on my drive with no jack etc
cupra r tdi, where abouts in Gloucester are you? I think you've said before but I've forgotten

No it isn't a ten minute job lol, got to take grills out to access screws, bolts in wing which cant be accessed through the ttop of wing as you will know they're closed, and it isn't the first time I did it either. I took it off pointlessly to access the fmic, which is behind rad lol. So, I used hp air to clean I/c. Could be done easily in half an hour if it wasn't freezing outside and it was on axle with two fronts off, like the forst time I did it on a ramp and was quicker, even working out what had to come off. Very kind with ten minutes lol. Doesn't help at all if the car is lowered too.

I have home made drive on ramps.

Lock to lock will access arch screws.

I just cant see it taking that long, had my fabia and mk4 golf front ends to bits numerous times and its not that hard imo

One day in the summer i'll have a crack at it just for laughs and see how long it takes
