you say new rob but that TD1 thing has been floating round Audi for a while, so im still confident that most will do a map regardless, i know superchips are looking at a box route but i cant believe that this will spell the end of remaps

TD1 has only affected the latest models ,
Audi used a manual TD1 system before and this has been in place for a while , it's there normal way or flagging up a modified software issue.
Vw and seat have now adopted the automated TD1 system with the new encrypted ECUs

I didn't say it will spell the end for remaps , I believe it will only be released as a true remap one the flagging issue can be mapped out.
So I think it will be tuning boxes until a proper solution can be found.

ok guys sorry took so long, has this fitted since last friday but its been a busy weekend.

now i assume everything is the same but have a look at the pics below and decide yourselves, let me know if you want any shots from any different angles.

I wont ever put any tuning box into my car thats for sure!. And the real ecu tuning is on our doorstep thats for sure:). There are other companys then APR out there:whistle:.

I think you will find that there probably wont be an ecu remap on these cars unless they can produce a map that doesnt leave any signs of software changes.

The new diagnostic software at dealers automaticaly checks for this every time it is plugged into the ecu , and if your car has a "flag" meaning the software has changed your car is automaticaly flagged as modified and your warranty is void , the dealership has no input into this.
So i think tuning boxes will become the norm unless they can 100% produce a map that doesnt leave any flags.

Looks awesome!!!, Was it hard to install? does it sound good?.

Just read that apr has released dq250 flash for the dsg :)

It was harder to install than i first gave it credit for, the brackets were annoying to fit and getting the silicone hoses over the maf piping at the back was time consuming.

Sound wise its pretty loud but not too much like my previous open cone on a diesel (might have something to do with hearing it over the exhaust). And i am sure it will feel better once I get the tuning box retuned

lol, moving or stationary, i will try to do both tbf but i dont know how well it will work moving, im not exactly surrounded by cutting edge media technology

Stationary and Moving, the moving one is best done from the passenger seat to give an idea of the cabin noise... I know how loud my Neuspeed and REVO have been.

cabin noise is amazingly quiet, but i thought the same of the exhuast, the sound proofing is really another level to my mk2.

I will get these videos done, it will require the assistance of the mrs for what i plan so dont know when it will be, either tonight or tomorrow.

ok Andrew just because its you please see link below.

We start off in my estate nice and slow with window up and gather speed, and then a few up and downs of an industrial estate and the back home with window down.

Filmed by the mrs mostly pointing her Ipad at the floor...

Some good numbers for APR on the golf gti mk7, 300+ hp!!, I wonder what they can do to the new cupra:)
i guess that ecu wasn`t "unbreakable";-)
