Hi guys
I'm servicing my daughter's car I've done oil and filters now I'd like to stop the squeaks from the brakes. I'm going g to use copper on pads normal on the brake seats. For the calibre slider pins would aerosol white grease do
Thanks

I'm not sure if basic white grease is up to that job temperature wise, I tend to use silicon grease as it gets said that copper grease will annoy the rubber parts the guide bolts pass through - and make them swell a bit and tighten up on the guide pins. Red brake rubber grease should be okay as well.

I recommend this stuff (Liqui Moly brake paste). It's sticky so goes on easier than copper grease and doesn't run or spill. Quietened my brakes down nicely.

I find copper grease can sometimes run a bit when it gets hot. I'm sure it's fine, but running grease near brakes makes me uncomfortable. It can also cause rubber to expand and crack, so I'm not sure about putting it on the pistons.

Saying that we've got mechanics in the family who swear by copper grease. Each to their own.

Liqui Moly - you have been watching too much WTC or is that WRC! Seriously though, that stuff will be the same as the Textar/Pagid stuff that places like ECP sell, I've tried using that on hubs to prevent alloys sticking/seizing due to corrosion - seems to work okay but even it escapes out and collects on the inner rim of the wheels - how annoying especially as I've taken care to use it sparingly!!

It sounds like the same stuff yeah. I've never had problems with it running though. I found it really sticky like glue. The stuff I put on my pads a year ago still has my fingerprints on it!
