camshaft sensor causing miss firing

Having problems with the car. It will start but it wont rev above about 500 even with throttle, its very lumpy and miss-firing like hell!
I get a camshaft sensor error on the vag com, does it sound like these problems could be caused by this?

in short yes, vagcom'd one today with i thing a g28 sensor dtc replaced it problem solved

Thanks mate, am I best off getting from the dealers or is there anywhere else you would recommend?

gsf do them for about 50 quid not sure what dealer cost is

Ive got the same problem on my 1.4. Is it a easy job to get to the sensor? Or would i be better off taking it into a garage and letting them do it?

Thanks for the advice, ended up getting one of the bay for £21 delivered, just need to fit now
