Have you found the solution? Cause I have this fault code... :(

N205 valve is ok, fuse is ok, any ideas?

Does nobody know the solution? I changed the N205 valve, checked fuses, wiring. I found nothing :(

Somebody talks to me: "You have to upgrade the software on your ECU"

Somebody has an idea, where I can ask about it?

The solution is pretty simple.

Check and replace the timing sensor which is situated on the cylider head, right above the HPFP.

Someone probably broke it while leaning on the engine and putting his hands on it for support....

P.S.You are welcome....

Timing sensor right above the HPFP ? There is a Chamsaft adjustment valve (N205) isn't it?
Not a timing sensor!

Did you think this or something else ?

(I've a pictures about it but I can't insert the link because I haven't 15 posts)

Maybe you give me a mail address I can send you the pic...

It's the one circled in red....

Check the connector for breakage, loose connection, of possible
sensor damage...

Yeah, this is a N205 valve aka. Chamsaft adjustment valve.

I replaced this valve three months ago but sometimes the fault code come back again.
I checked the connector. It was okay. (No crash, the connection was ok). I checked to wiring:

-From the sensor to the SB38 fuse
-From the sensor to te ECM

It was okay.

I have no idea :((((

Well i had this error when mine was broken.

It could also be an "intermittent" disconnection, so it could be fine when you tested, but could be having random disconnects.

For me , change the sensor again, and also change the adapter for it.

At least you would have eliminated the most possible reasons.

Okay, when the fault code come back I will replace the connector.

Today I blew the connector with WD-40...

Thank you for your help...

hey mate, its a BWA. I got it back from Audi last night and guess what...... no faults found. Well there are no codes presant, however they can feel the problem and agree that it is most likely the adjustment fault. I have got all weekend to get the code back in the system. They did not charge me so i cant really complain.

Hi there,

What can you feel when you have this fault code? Is your car powerless?

I have this problem too and I have been reading about this problem. Usually this problem comes out at cars 2006 with BWA engine code. Doesn't matter what kind of car. (Seat Leon FR, Skoda Octavia RS, Audi, VW Golf GTI). I don't know why.

I have some ideas what will be...

Is your car chip tuned or stock?

My car is on a stage 2 map from amd essex along with a full miltek exhaust.

Basically its just really flat after 4k revs. It seems to hold back and almost misfire. Its like its surging, as if its not changing its timing higher up the revs. Its really annoying me now as Audi hav said today that i will have to wait untill the 1st of next month before they can look at it! So basically i have to drive around with a misfiring car for a month :(

any ideas will be great

Possible fault:

-Bad fuse. You have many fuse in engine compartment. I don't know which one because haven't Elsawin (Elsawin = VAG group car's service software)

There is one fuse (by VW Golf GTI, Skoda Octavia RS) for activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve, chamsaft adjustment valve and the fuel pressure regulating valve.

So check all fuses in engine compartment.

-Bad connection or bad connector of sensor or bad wiring

Use contact spray or replace the connector.

-Software bug. You have to ask Audi there is TSB for your car.

I hope this help you.

I see you live in Portsmouth. My brother lives and works there too :)

Wow blast from the past. It turned out to be the sensor unplugged (for some reason?)
