Can anyone identify this part?

Found a part lying at the drivers footwell right below the pedals this morning and i don't know what it is.

They're is no part no stamped on it but it looks like a clothes peg

I have taken a couple of pics to see if anyone can tell me what it is.

Should have said on my post that a workmate changed my brake pedal switch last week and he probably stripped the under panels of the dash at the pedals.

I was just worried it was something to do with my pedal box

Am off work just now so i will have a gander myself underneath the dash to see where it goes.

it comes off the lower dash and helps to hold it in place . had my lower dash off last week
