Can I paint an exhaust back box/tip?

Hello folks, just a quicky really. I have recently purchased a 2nd hand cat-backl exhaust for my 20VT Ibiza. I am going for a matte black and grey theme with my car (see pic in sig) and was wondering: Can I paint the tip of the exhaust matte black to match?
Any ideas much appreciated on method and/or type of paint etc. I have refurbed my own wheels and painted my badges etc so I have some experience of paiting already...

heat resistant paint will do the trick...
BandQ BBQ paint seems best imo
youll need to 'key' the stainless though

just keyed up the chrome a bit with scotchbrite and rattle canned mine but only lasts about 3 months so i just repaint it

Good tips chaps, cheers. Do you think it will look odd, or be a good idea?

i wouldnt do it personally but if thats the theme youe after go for it... its only a quick buff away if you dont like it
