Can i paint these and how?

Can the black plastic bits / mini spoilers on the front, back & sides of a 1998 1.4 mk2 beeza be painted/sprayed to match the coloured bumpers just above them? If so what is the best way to do it. I don't want to put a kit on bcos the insurance sharks'll moan.
Also mine is bright yellow > so where can i find a matching spray paint?

Yep, you can paint them, just need to get the right base/primer on there. The front splitter will flex a bit so you need some sort of rubberised paint for that. Halfrauds will sell some stuff so might be worth having a root around in there, or going to a decent auto factors (the sort who will mix paint for you) and having a chat with someone there.

You can get paint from the dealers - paint code will be on a sticker in the boot or in the front page of the service schedule. Given that you're spraying a bit, it might be cheaper to get it mixed up for you by the auto factors.

don't go to halfords, spent about £80 on paints and primers, cleaning solvents for my mk3 golf door and it was a total mess, followed the instructions to the tee aswell

The halfrauds paint isnt actually that bad if you get the stuff that they mix for you. It costs a bit more but with a good flexible primer and basecoat, you can get the desired effect.

There shouldnt be much of a problem spraying the plastic bits but doors and large panels can be tricky getting an even coat.

Just make sure you do it on a nice sunny day, and use plenty of laquer on top of your new paint job.
