CAN YOU HELP???....inlet manifold problems

am abit stuck guys, had my rocker cover, inlet manifold and charge pipe powder coated the other day, fitted them all back on today, am about 95% sure ive not made any mistakes and yet on idle its running like a bag of nails.....when i rev it its better but when at idle its coughing and spluttering, engine managment light comes on intermitently if driven.....anyone got any ideas!? im really strugling and need to get it back on the road asap!

Get it vag-com'd to show the error
Any chance you touch the butterfly in the throttle body ? could need re-seting

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh have i made a novice boob.....forgive me...the throttle boddy bolts to the inlet manifold on the right hand side, would the butterfly be the flap inside that pivots, the one i cleaned with a tissue to clean up some of the oil :S :S how do you mean resetting? should i be worried?? :S

Yep the flapy bit is the butterfly.
You need to re aligne the throttle body useing vag com, there is a guide on here somewhere

ahhh right, big problem as i havnt got vag com....any sugestions what i can do, is it damaging to drive it before i get it re aligned?

The car wont run right till it's done, I dont know if there will be any lasting damage.

I believe so.....if I'm right then the free version is just the older version that doesn't support past 2005? I think I know somomeone who has the free version that can do it for me but he lives 20 or so miles away!
