I only ask if you can over wax as my roof has become smugdie or cloudy if you know what I mean ? I use megs ultimate wax and had trouble polishing it off and now the roof looks cloudy? All my other panels are ok as far as I can see. Any ideas? I heard washing up liquid will remove the wax...

I'm hazarding a guess that you've waxed it on an occasion that was late in the evening. It is possible to wax too often. I very light t-cutting with caution should remove the layer. But if someone has a foolproof method that won't damage your laquere then follow that. Only use the t-cut if your a wizard with it, like me:D.

Did you wax on a sunny day and not buff it off quick enough?

That happened to me a few weeks ago. Had to get the DaS out to get the cloudy wax off.

Had this once before, happened when I waxed when it was very hot in direct sunlight, never again.

you can use a tar/glue remover like autosmart tardis to remove the polish/wax, then wash the car down and start again. we do this at work when a car comes in to have vinyl applied and it has polish/wax already on it as the vinyl does not stick to these.

Hope this helps

Sounds like a combination of errors: too much wax, waxing in direct sunlight and waxing on a hot panel. Get some fairy liquid in warm water and wash the affected panels to start stripping the wax then give it a clay bar and you should be back to square one.

Ideally a car should only be fully stripped back and rewaxed twice a year

Washed the car yesterday and its come up fine. Think I did a school boy error and waxed it when the weather was a bit damp ? Before we had this sunshine . I do have polishing OCD though, always like to polish something when I wash it lol... Maybe I should get a quick detailer ? I probably do over do things and is washing up liquid safe ? It won't scratch will it ?

Once you've clayed polished and waxed etc I use a speed detailer like dodo juice tropical red mist or meguiars speed detailer in between waxes keeps the shine.

You'd have to be washing with fairy liquid from the 1940's to scratch it :) washing up liquid is excellent for stripping wax

No you cant wax on/off too much... it adds a extra layer of protection... or so they say...
