Hi...WTF, have just been informed that as I have just invested in a pricey turbo back Milltek system, I can no longer go to stage 2 as I need a 3 inch downpipe, which can't be mated to the Milltek cat. Surely this can't be correct or Milltek would have gone bust with having to keep the restrictive standard downpipe.:censored::censored:

Am I being blagged into someone trying to sell me one of their cats.

Anyone sure of the answere.

Regards Tim

get a custom map then mate, any mapper that can't make use of what fitted is no 'tuner'

mao

True but that would be another £500 rather than the £55 for the revo stage 2 upgrade, surely I'm gettin blagged somewhere, two of the most reputable brands in vag??

ok so it wasnt a turbo back exhaust then...

you can have stage 2, but would have to run more conservative settings.

Some (although not loads) of tuners say there is little need to change the downpipe...

so have a good chat with someone, or as above get a more custom map.

phew

O.k, just spoken to Revo, they said Blue-flame will supply downpipe and a reducer to meet the milltek cats, he also said the dp was the most restrictive part of the exhaust on the lcr not the cats, wonder y Milltek didn't tell me that:whistl

Loads of people have standard downpipe still and are running revo stage 2, B3LSY being one of them

also, as the miltek attaches to the standard downpipe, it stands to reason that the piper down pipe would fit, as the piper system is interchangable with the stock system.
You can get the downpipe with or without the cat.

Yea, I have just seen Piper do a 3" dp that fits to standard cat so must fit to Milltek cat, gonna go for that option.

Personally, your better off getting the BF downpipe and cat and then mating a miltek to it.
Should work out no more than investing in one of the hugely expensive miltek lcr cats.
Many of us have raised this with miltek themselves regarding the lack of 3 inch DP, no wonder why BF and Piper do so well with the LCR.
Have you tried Gary @ piper for a good deal on a complete turbo back system.

I have Miltek myself but have no plans of doing anything else now performance wise but i totally agree with this point

the downpipe makes a huge difference once changed, i changed the cat and made no noticable difference, but when i changed the dp,i could hear my turbo whistle much better and dumpvalve was a lot louder, and the response was great. i would deffinately recommend uprating your dp.

if you go to a custom exhaust garage, they can figure out how to create a custom dp to fit your milltech cat.

i went to RMS exhausts who fitted it to a milltech system.

The miltek cat is an excellent cat, probably the best you can get but it is expensive. Worry not;) piper make a high flow version of the stock down pipe which will mate to your miltek cat. send him a pm and point him in the direction of this post.

I'll agree with that!

My Turbo back Bluefalme system is awesome.

Untill you take the standard system off that you realise how restrictive it is if you are going down the remap route.

Downpipe

I have just been quoted roughly £180 from longlife for a 3" downpipe reduced to 2.5" meeting the cat, fittted, that seems pretty good value? or cheap? has anyone had any experience with longlife??

Regards Tim

so what do you have now... turbo back or cat back system.. turbo back meand dp and sports cat to cat back system....

if you have full turbo back then you can map stage 2 custom settings in properly.
