Can't turn my headunit back on.

Hey guys, as some of you may know, I have just resprayed my centre console, which required removing the stereo. Now that I have it re-installed, I can't get it to work. I have red in the manual that when I turn it on after removing it, "Safe" should be displayed on-screen, and then I punch in the number. Instead, all I get is the screen where I enter my number, and PTY doesn't do anything! Interestingly, if I hold down any of the 3 buttons on the right, I can type in the numbers, implying that the buttons aren't working. What should I do? HELP!!!!

Pretty sure you have to press SCAN instead of PT on some of the models...

So then why did the instructions lie to me?

Well he was actually designing the radio, but was in a rush to go home for Siesta. So in his rush, he written the instructions on the back of his hand, ready to type up later. But the instructions smudged when making his Paella. ...and now we all have to suffer.
