Some further updates here from the IC market in general - whilst it's not specific to auto parts, backlogs of CPUs, GPUs, mobile chipsets and the like are now slowly clearing. CPU supplies for example are pretty much back to normal, so it's a good sign for pending orders.
Yes, certainly does seem to be getting, I am also after a new GPU but I want the car first!

Interesting info from another brand. Almost ridiculous.

"We write to advise you that a number of Audi models built from the week starting 21 June (build week 25) onwards (including those with Advanced Key) will initially be delivered with one key with remote function and one without (ie key blade only), rather than two keys with remote function.
We apologise for this occurrence caused by the current global shortages on semi-conductors.
Please note that the second key can only be used to open or lock the vehicle, it cannot be used to start the engine.
Current estimations are that the build weeks affected are 25 to 39, however this is not yet confirmed. Customers will be supplied a second remote key by retro-fitment, but lead times for this are not yet available and may extend into 2022."

You order brand new Audi and you get just one key and you may get second one next year. It affects almost all models, including S and RS. So Cupra part shortages are not that bad (yet).

That's just utterly bizarre...

Had an update from cupra to say that my vehicle is still affected by the chip shortage. They said they have no eta on it still. Basically if you call round enough you'll be able to tell that no one has the slightest clue when the vehicles will actually be built and delivered. My cupra dealer are asking me to update them on whats going on after I speak to cupra, as they also have no clue whats going on. Its a mess.

So delivery could be next month, could be next year, call back in a few weeks and we will update you is the general message at the moment.

So anyone who has been told that their vehicle is due to be built on x date is not going to happen I would suggest. They have no idea. Its also running in date order I've been told, but may differ on models depending on the production line.

I also asked about cupra priority they are advertising on website and this only affects the models already built and in UK. So I think only the 150 bhp one no one wants.

I will probably give it until Tuesday next week as that's when cupra are being updated apparently so will see what they say then. If not I'm probably going to cancel. Its hard to pull the trigger because of how good the deal is and the car itself seems great value, but hard to be without a vehicle for so long. I'm also concerned that the excitement of it turning up after a 8 month wait may be a bit of a letdown due to all the infotainment related issues. Meh.

Seriously?

It's not just chips: was speaking to a neighbour of mine today who is the service manager for a large commercial vehicle dealership.
They are having to carry out services on trucks and vans without replacing the fuel filters because of supply issues on parts.
Difficult times for everyone at the moment. :(

Did you order directly from the dealer, or have you gone for a lease from a broker
