If I drive my car about 10miles and turn the engine off and leave it 15+ minutes it wont start, it will only turn over. But as it happens a few times I experimented to see if I could eliminate the problem and found if I open the bonnet and release pressure off the coolant tank, give it a bit of throttle when turning it over somtimes it will start. But im not sure if im cooling the engine down by opening the bonnet or its a coolant system problem?? anyone ever hear or know of a problem like this in the past?? any help will be really appreciated as its driving me nuts! check to see if the car purges the fuel system when you turn the ignition on! it might be the fuel pump relay! it can go at any time after a few years, if it doesnt purge( make that squirt noise when you turn the ignition on ) then its the relay, and if it does make the purge noise then try changing the fuel filter, it may be blocked as a next start point

Good luck mate :D

ok thanks mate. Will do tommorow ill get her up on the ramp on my lunch, fingers crossed.

have you tried a coolant temperature sensor? they sometimes go wrong.

I think that you should get it scanned for stored faults or buy a cheap scan tool like the Gendan VAG one that I keep suggesting people that don't want or need VCDS buy and keep in the car. (I have both!)
